Ramayana is going global before it even reaches Indian theatres. The Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi film will hold its world premiere at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on October 27, 2026.
The screening will take place at the museum’s David Geffen Theatre, just over a week before the film’s worldwide release on November 5.
Ramayana World Premiere Details
- Date: October 27, 2026 (evening)
- Venue: David Geffen Theatre, Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, Los Angeles
- Format: 3D
- Audience: 945 guests, full capacity, invite-only
Hollywood’s Biggest Names Invited
The premiere is invite-only and will host leading Hollywood figures, filmmakers, international press and prominent members of the global film industry.
For an Indian film, premiering at the Academy Museum is a big statement. The museum is run by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the body behind the Oscars. It has hosted many global events and Oscar-related celebrations over the years.
A Desi Dress Code on the Red Carpet
The premiere falls during the Deepavali festive season, and the makers are bringing that spirit to Los Angeles. Guests have been asked to arrive in traditional Indian festive wear for the red carpet.
So expect a Hollywood red carpet filled with sarees, sherwanis and kurtas.
Sony Pictures Takes It Worldwide
Sony Pictures will handle the global distribution of Ramayana outside India. That gives the film the backing of a major Hollywood studio for its international release.
The film will also release in IMAX, which is already driving most of its USA pre-sales.
The Team Behind the Epic
Ramayana is directed by Nitesh Tiwari. It’s produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios, in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
The music is composed by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman, a pairing that has already created huge curiosity.
The makers have also confirmed the two-part plan once again. Part 1 releases worldwide on November 5, 2026, and Part 2 follows during Diwali 2027.
Languages
Ramayana releases in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam.
